“This defendant allegedly transported a small arsenal of mortal weapons and ammunition through occupied traffic stations, and on a train full of passengers,” said New Jersey Attorney, Matthew J. Platkin, in a statement.

The Traffic Police at the Penn station in Newark, New Jersey, noticed a bag unattended in Black and Black-Zobra-Patron on January 3, according to officials. A K-9 team cleared the bag for the presence of explosives, then the officers opened it and found within a case for a Glock gun, according to A press releasethat cites two complaints and an accusation.

Within the case there was a gun with a magazine loaded with 18 rounds, authorities said. Also in the bag there was an AR style magazine with rifle rounds and a “plastic bag that contains a shirt and two boxes labeled as 9 mm bullets; four .223 gauge bullet boxes”.

“A secondary compartment with zipper in the suitcase contained a pink canvas that contained a black-style rifle Zastava Arms AK-47 with a round loaded in the camera and multiple magazines loaded,” said the Press statement of the AG.

After the police found the stock market, around 2:55 pm, they reviewed the images of the station chamber, which seemed to show a man, whom the police alleged that it was Kennerk, who carried two bags, including the one with the zebra pattern.

“The subject moved away, allegedly, leaving behind the suitcase with zebra print and went to the Amtrak ticket window,” the authorities said. “It was learned that the subject was addressing an Amtrak train destined for Virginia and the next stop would be the TRANTON Transit Center.”

Two officers approached that train when he arrived in Trenton, authorities said. When they approached Kennerk, he allegedly showed them a valid Amtrak ticket, although it was for another train. Police officers in Trenton had been notified that Newark officials were looking for Kennerk. He was arrested before being able to board his train with a ticket, authorities said.

“The collective actions of the application of the law eliminated the possible butcher shop that could have been caused by the weapons involved in this case,” said New Jersey Transit police chief, Christopher Trucillo, in a statement.

When Kennerk was arrested, the police recorded his second suitcase and found other weapons, authorities said. It was supposedly carried in that “dark brown” suitcase as an AR-15 style rifle, along with “multiple hills of ammunition, multiple extended magazines and multiple guns,” officials said.

“The accusation of this individual underlines the severe threat that represents those that accumulate illegal weapons with flagrant contempt for public security,” said Colonel Patrick J. Callahan, superintendent of the New Jersey State Police, in a statement.

It is expected that the attorney general Karen Bracizizewsk, of the New Jersey Criminal Justice Division, leads the Prosecutor’s Office against Kennerk, authorities said.
