Multiple Doge officials are in the process of leaving the Trump administration as Elon Musk officially moves away, sources told ABC News Thursday.
Among them is James Burnham, Doge’s best lawyer, and Steve Davis, a Lieutenant of an musk for a long time of Musk’s private companies, who are in the process outside their roles as special government employees, confirmed a White House official to ABC News.

ABC News has communicated with those involved. The sources told ABC News that other special government employees who worked with Doge also planned to be out of edge.
While Musk is moving away from the administration, a senior administration official said he will continue to serve as an unofficial advisor to the president and could attend the White House meetings in the future.
While White House officials insist that Musk and Trump are in good terms as Musk leaves, the president has been silent about Musk’s departure, especially after Musk’s critical comments to CBS News on the Trump “Big Beautiful” expenses bill of Trump who approved the house led by the Republicans last week.
