The driver hits pedestrians in the Liverpool Victory Parade: Police

A pilot hit the pedestrians in Liverpool on Monday, police said, since hundreds of thousands had gathered in a parade that celebrated the Liverpool Football Club winning the football title of the English Premier League.

The vehicle crashed with “several pedestrians in Water Street” just after 6 pm local time, the meseyside police saying.

The car stopped at the scene and a 53 -year -old British man was arrested, according to the police.

“Extensive consultations are ongoing to establish the circumstances prior to the collision,” said Merseyside police in a update while asking the public to “do not speculate on the circumstances surrounding the incident tonight.”

Police also asked people to send related images and “not share anguishing content online.”

The emergency staff is on the scene, authorities said. Police had no details about any collision injury.

The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, described the incident as “shocking.”

“Liverpool scenes are terrible: my thoughts are with all the injured or affected,” Starmer said in a statement. “They keep me updated on developments and ask them to give the police the space they need to investigate.”

Liverpool Football Club said he is in contact with the police regarding the incident, which occurred towards the end of the parade.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have been affected by this serious incident,” the club said in a statement. “We will continue to offer our full support for emergency services and local authorities that are dealing with this incident.”
