The former US prosecutor of the East district of Virginia Jessica Aber was found dead on Saturday morning, in Alexandria, Virginia, according to the police.

Aber, who served as US prosecutor in Virginia during most of the Biden administration, assumed the position in October 2021 after being unanimously confirmed by the Senate and resigned in January, shortly after the inauguration of President Donald Trump.

As a US prosecutor, Aber supervised a personnel from some 300 prosecutors and other personnel and managed federal prosecutions in the state.

He began working in the office as of 2009 as assistant to the United States prosecutor, providing financial fraud, public corruption, violent crimes and cases of child exploitation, according to an online biography.

He received his lawyer from the Law Faculty of William and Mary in 2006.

“We are disconsolate beyond the words to know the death of our friend and former colleague, the fiscal prosecutor of the United States Jessica Aber,” said the current United States prosecutor in the East District of Virginia, Erik Siik, Siebert In a statement. “She had no comparison as a leader, mentor and fiscal, and is simply irreplaceable as a human being. Although we are devastated by this loss, each of us in the Eastern District of Virginia (Edva) will seek its example and the effort to live with that standard.”

In a statementThe Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares said he was sad when he learned of his death, saying that “his public service career included the United States prosecutor for the East district of Virginia and whose work with the fire of high fire saved more lives than we can realize.”

He added: “Our thoughts and our prayers are with your family this week.”
